About our Dandeli trip
64 of us started from Bangalore on Friday night by train and we reached Hubli railway station on Saturday early morning. A whole lot of fun we had throughout the train journey (The Train journey is around 9 hours)
7 Trax jeep was waiting for us at the railway station and we all were set ready to start out journey towards Dandeli forest. Morning breakfast was packed from Hubli as we had it on the way to avoid the delay in reaching Dandeli. The forest ride itself was a bit adventurous because of muddy road and it was a typical forest ride.
When reached the farm house, we realized that staying in a farm house in the forest is one more best experience and an adventure as its located in the deep forest and surrounded with huge trees and no one else around.
We headed towards a river just behind the farm house. After 20 to 30 mins of walk we reached a huge river, unfortunately the water was very less in summer. Still we got into the water and had a galla fun time for 2 hours and had food at the farm house and food was really good than expected. Post lunch we were playing lots of games till evening. Then resort people arranged for night bird watch and a walk inside the forest and it was a different experience to walk with only torch light. Then we had campfire & dance with our favorite songs and went on till midnight.
The next excitement we had was staying in tent in middle of the forest. 6 rooms were available in the farmhouse, however all of us preferred to stay in the tent.
Next day early morning it was foggy and too cold when we went for a jungle safari ride. We couldn’t site much of animals, however the site and the climb to the peak was nice.
On the way we went on the crocodile trail with meats to watch the live crocodiles.
After breakfast we reached the Kaali river and we all of us were waiting on the Cauvery shores with lots of fear and almost blank by seeing the calm huge river, because most of us don’t know to swim. Once we got into the boat with life jackets excitement started with fear and with every boat trained professionals guiding us and controlling the boat.
Along with him we also started to row the boat with all our energy and eagerly moving ahead to face the first rapid. There has been a rope on the boat and when rapid comes we just ducked in … Oh My God!!! What a thrilling experience when we crossed the rapids! Almost 9 kms boat ride and we crossed 3 rapids. It was a onetime awesome experience for first timers and I just loved it.
