About our 2 day weekend trip from Bangalore
Day 1 @ Kyathanamakki Hills(30-April-2017)
We started in an AC Tempo traveler around 11pm from Bangalore on Saturday night. Next day early morning before we reach Hornadu, stopped for tea break around. When we were waiting for coffee, sudden changes in the climate and started to feel the fog drizzling on us and all of us were excited.
Around 7AM we reached near Hornadu temple and had breakfast there. Then our jeep journey started reach the home stay at Kyathanamakki hill, which was around 16Kms. First half of the drive was on a proper road and the 2ns half of the travel was deep inside the forest and absolutely no road available.
The moment we got down from the jeep we felt .. Oh wow!!!. The home stay is surrounded by hills and no other house or resort available within 10 Kms surrounding. The home stay people arranged a jeep where in 8 to 9 people can travel.
We paid Rs 1500 per person including 3 times food, snacks , coffee/ tea , jeep drive , guidance to the waterfall.
The care taker took us to a small waterfall near the homestay. We trekked 2 kms and crossed few hills, thick forest area covered with tall trees, small streams. The hills were filled with small date palm, forest jamun tree, guava, etc. The waterfall is small but water was clear and we spent 2 hours, best place to visit during monsoon.
Post lunch we took rest and evening again trekked few hills to watch sunset and had an amazing view. Evening we played games and anthakshari on the terrace. All of a sudden thousands of fire flakes surrounded us and blinking in the nearby tree, on the top the sky was filled with millions of stars. Pitch dark around and these lighting added more pleasure on that evening.
Day 2 at Kyathanamakki Hills: (01-May-2017)
Next day morning again we trekked few hills in the Kyathanamakki hills in the opposite direction to reach the sunrise view point. Just astonished with the scenic view when we reached the top of the hill. We saw the clouds below us and felt like reached the heaven and a must visit unexplored place near Bangalore.
After descending we had breakfast at Kyathanamakki Home stay and again our jeep journey started towards Hornadu. People went to Hornadu temple for Darshan and on the way back we took Sringeri route to see Kudhuramuka hills and few more water falls.
Then we took a different route and crossed Charmadi hills and started to travel along with foggy clouds and rain. The double rainbow sited in Charmadi hills added more colors to our trip.
Electricity generated by using turbo water power system.
The total trip cost for the 2 day trip from Bangalore was Rs 3100 including Food , stay , travel by TT & Jeep travel expenses and it’s a suitable place for people who want to get lost along with nature in an unexplored place near Bangalore and a best weekend getaway from Bangalore for 2 days
